Compton Unified School District is proud to announce that Superintendent Dr. Darin Brawley has been honored with the 2025 Janet Linton Leadership Award by NAF. The award was presented during the NAF Next Conference, held in Aurora, Colorado.
Jaiden Zaragoza, a proud graduate of Dominguez High School’s Class of 2025, is on his way to Cal State Fullerton this fall, where he will major in Kinesiology.

The final day of the 2024-25 school year was filled with pride, joy, and heartfelt emotion as Compton Unified marked the promotions of scholars from campuses across the district.
The California state test scores are in and Compton Unified School District is ranked first in performance among unified school districts with similar demographic and socio-economic profiles.
CUSD recently held exciting ribbon-cutting ceremonies for new Verizon Innovative Learning Labs at Enterprise Middle School and Bunche Middle School. These were made possible by Verizon, through a partnership with Heart of America and the J. Orin Edson Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute at Arizona State University.
More than 130 Compton Unified middle school scholars from 10 schools came together to compete in volleyball and flag football at Walton Middle School recently.
50 Compton Unified teams competed at the third annual CUSD First Robotics Festival at Dominguez High School recently. More than 350 scholars from 18 schools participated in FTC, FLL Discover, Explore, and Challenge teams, showcasing their coding, core values, innovation projects, and robotics skills with their robot matches.
Having received the Apple ConnectED grant a few years ago, student achievement continues to increase at Walton Middle School.
