More than 500 Compton Unified scholars gathered at Caldwell Elementary to celebrate Computer Science Week with a full day of hands-on exploration, creativity, and learning. Scholars from Carver, Jefferson, Kennedy, McKinley, and Rosecrans participated in engaging activities.

Compton Unified School District (CUSD) welcomed more than 150 STEM educators from across California—including representatives from school districts and county offices of education—for a special Computer Science Week event: the CAL-MSCS Computer Science Community of Practice (CoP).

Compton Unified School District (CUSD) has recorded remarkable achievements on the most recent administration of the California Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBAC), surpassing previous benchmarks in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. This year’s preliminary results demonstrate a significant 8-point increase in ELA and a 6.4-point increase in Mathematics.

Congratulations to Bunche Middle School’s Esports team for taking home not one, but two titles recently. Bunche triumphed in the Compton Unified Esports Middle School Rocket League 3v3 Tournament as well as the West Coast League.

The California state test scores are in and Compton Unified School District is ranked first in performance among unified school districts with similar demographic and socio-economic profiles.

A group of 29 Bunche Middle School Newcomer scholars took an inspiring field trip to UCLA recently. This college tour opened up a world of possibilities for these students, ensuring that they see themselves in a future where they attend college.
